The goal of the Missions Hotline is to reach the people in the world who are on "the bottom rung of the ladder". These people are being pushed off "the edge of life" by starvation, disease, persecution, human rights violations and sometimes even geonocide. Often these people live in remote areas of the world - which is why their plight is forgotten. It's also the reason why we can reach them better than most Christian groups, since we specialize in remote travel. The Missions Hotline is committed to bringing the light of God's love - and the truth of His word - to these people.
The role of the Missions Hotline is challenging. Every job is tough. Every job is an adventure serving God. That's the way we like it. We started off as a group of Christian mountaineers dedicated to evangelism. We value qualities such as commitment, courage, motivation and integrity. You don't have to be a mountaineer to work with us, or even from an outdoors background. But if you're looking for a Christian team with a real sense of purpose then you've probably found the right place.
Currently our work is focused on Africa. There are good reasons for this choice. Africa has many of the poorest nations on Earth. Millions of people are suffering from the effects of hunger, war, AIDS and illiteracy. Yet Africa is also a continent where many people are seeking fresh hope in God - despite their sufferings. It is a place of challenge and a source of great inspiration. |
